Hey Everyone, I was reading a story that talked about the city of Iqaluit in Nunavut and the fact that they are on a water advisory due to gasoline in their water supply. This got me thinking about the water quality shared by the world and the inequality of clean water around the world. As such I was hopeful that we can start a global review of water standards and set an international standard for all nations to follow. This standard would essentially be "Water Rights" and the fact that water is a human right so it must be protected. As such I was thinking that we start the following procedures: 1. Create an analytic list of water quality of cities and nations and identify areas that need to be improved. 2. Once we have compiled this list we then work with the international community, private corporations, charities and governments to draft an entire water infrastructure overhaul. I've said it before but the oil and gas industry would be perfect to upgrade the national water and gas infrastructure. 3. We draft new laws and regulations of businesses and factories to set an international protection standard for water everywhere. This standard would help nations to improve their water quality and create jobs at the same time. 4. We work with poorer nations and charities to create a worldwide water fund to help nations that cannot provide the infrastructure upgrades themselves.
5. We then start an ocean program to test the currents and determine what chemicals are in our oceans and which ones are being carried on ocean currents.
Water is a human right and therefore must be protected to ensure the future of our planet and people. If we work together as nations and nationals, we can provide clean drinking water for everyone, everywhere.
As such if we can review these options in an effort to help clean up our water and set international water rights and protections it would be greatly appreciated.
Stay Safe, Stay Sanitized and Stay Supportive,
John Ames Birch
