Hey Everyone, I read another story that talked about how organ donations have been halted in some places as the staff has been deployed to help with the pandemic measures. This is causing a concern for people who are waiting for organs to be donated. As such I was hopeful that we can come together and align on a single procedure to help with every day surgeries. As I've indicated prior the military needs to be activated to help with this wave along with any and all other medical support staff, nurses or students. I propose that we create teams: Alpha Care Team - These teams are responsible for the pandemic measures and care associated with it. These groups would enact protocols to move patients to other buildings once stabilized and help when needed in primary care facilities. They would work to stabilize patients using antibody injections and then transfer them when stable. Beta Care Team - These teams would be staffed by doctors, nurses and students and they would be responsible for the operation and care of the secondary triage centres or any temporary care centres. They accept the overflow from the hospitals and continue to provide care. Gamma Care Team - These teams are staffed by support members and students and go to which facility is facing a shortage of manpower. Each team is staffed by a doctor, a number of nurses and students. The doctor sets the stage for treatment while the nurses utilize the students to enact the doctor's orders. These teams would essentially move building to building when needed to stabilize care at hard hit hospitals and care centres. Delta Care Team - These teams would be responsible for organ donation, backlogged surgeries as well as everyday care that has been deferred by the ongoing crisis. They would conduct surgeries and prepare organs for removal. This team would also be responsible for transplanting said organs to patients. If we enact separate teams to deal with both the pandemic as well as the backlogged surgery caseload we will be able to provide a better standard of care to the patients. Perhaps we can review the above options with our medical professionals and amend where needed to increase the level of care we can provide during this crisis.
