Pandemic Response - Home Testing Kits

Given the need for testing and diagnosis as well the need for isolation, we can create home testing kits that are sent to people's homes fully sanitized so they can test independently and reduce traffic at doctors offices and hospitals. This would allow us to diagnose more people per day and get quicker intelligence on the spread of the contagion. Then the medical information can be sent directly to the nation and the cdc for analysis and response and the quarantine and treatment can begin. The home kits can even include information for the patient to reassure them and educate on the next steps and helpful resources during the quarantine. Doctors and nurses can even use teleconferencing and Skype to help patients in isolation while reducing contact and possible viral transmission. If the patients condition worsens then the doctor can monitor digitally perhaps using fitbit data or something similar and if needed transport the patient to a hospital or an isolation centre to start medical treatment. If we could use peoples fitbit data in real time we could determine the status of those infected and also give an indication of new infections by using the fitbit to monitor them daily. Further can you use the carriers phone GPS to chart the spread of the virus and use that data to plan a containment strategy for those who have the virus. The GPS would give you at least a general direction of contact and spread and allow you to perhaps target quarantine measures. We should also check on our friends and family members and others in quarantine or isolation, we need to ensure that people who live alone are communicated with regularly to ensure help is sent if their conditions worsen. In addition to the above if this isolation period extends we can utilize the airplanes to cargo supplies to where they are needed both medical and civilian. Military planes can even help with the movement of medical personnel, equipment or supplies to locations that they might be needed.
