Hey Everyone, I am writing to you today to discuss the human trafficking epedemic that has recently hit Western Canada. In the news there were a number of human trafficking arrests that included a number of smaller towns in the area. The most recent arrest involved a doctor trafficking underage individuals. Modern day slavery is occurring all over the world, in every city on the globe there are men, women and children in chains. Each year more and more people fall victim to human trafficking due to a lack of education and empathy. Years this epidemic has gone untreated and in many places undiagnosed because people are not aware of its insidiousness. We therefore need education campaigns and commericals to highlight the dangers of human trafficking and what to look for. We need commericals to be run daily that warn citizens of the dangers behind slavery and how to stop it. Furthermore, we need new laws and investigative powers to make human trafficking cost prohibitive. Therefore, each year we can help stop this evil and inhumane practice from eclipsing the morality of the human spirit. I am therefore calling on the worldwide media to launch a series of education campaigns and investigative specials to help stop this epidemic.
