Each day men, women and children end up on the streets due to a series of unfortunate events. The pandemic has only increased the need for help, services and affordable housing. In the news we hear reports about homeless encampments and the fact that police are routinely sent to clear said encampments. This is a negative thing for those living in the encampments but also a very impactful event for the mental health of the officers. As such I was thinking of ways to help alleviate this problem by seeking alternate options while new funding and affordable housing is constructed. As such I was thinking that we can reach out to hotels to seek a large scale rental of rooms that will allow those one welfare a safe space while they seek a job. If we are able to broker a deal between the hotels and the government it would be a benefit to both as it will allow hotels to have income and allow the government the ability to add affordable housing immediately. Perhaps a tax incentive can also be given to hotels to help them house those most vulnerable amongst us and then the residents can get food and supplies themselves. They might even be able to work out a meal program like colleges if they have restaurants on property. If you would be so kind as to review this matter and advise me it would be greatly appreciated.
