Hey Everyone, I was thinking a lot about the fashion industry and the expectation of beauty that has been thrust upon us. This outdated standard of what women or men must obtain and how such an expectation can damage not just the body and mind but the soul as well. In today's magazines you see one standard of beauty reign as industry standard. This ideal makes people feel that this is the standard they must achieve. In reality the images are enhanced on many occasions which further pushes people to a standard that they cannot physically meet. In my humble opinion we need to see more voluptuous models on the runways and magazines. We need models of all shapes, sizes and ethnicities to highlight the true beauty within our society. We need to create a new ideal of beauty that matches the actual beauty found within our people. This way people growing up will no longer be enslaved to an ideal they can never achieve. This expectation is not limited to femalekind as men too are pressured to obtain this standard of fitness that many cannot achieve. We therefore need to evolve this standard for both women and men to ensure that everyone can feel comfortable in their bodies. Furthermore, if customers feel that they can actually wear the clothes presented then designers will cultivate more customers and fans. As such I am calling on all fashion insiders, designers and models to revolutionize the industry and take back the ideal of beauty from unattainable standards. We need to show the next generation that no matter their shape, as long as they are happy and healthy, this is what matters. It's time to highlight the natural beauty that is found within the bounty of our people. Stay Safe, Stay Sanitized and Stay Supportive, John Ames Birch @johneames2
