Hey Everyone, I was reading a story about a school trustee that made transphobic comments or aspersions against our leading health expert. Trans rights are human rights, period. While I do not speak for the majority I know the struggles of all people who are looked at differently because they stood apart from the majority due to bias. Throughout our history we have fought each other and for one another to redefine what it means to be human. All of these statements, these evolutions, these expressions of self, help to answer the fundamental question of human existence, "what is the value of life". This standard, these rights, are not just in relation to the individual or groups in question, but speak to the very definition of all of our people. We are one people no matter the difference or distinction and when we reduce the definition of one of us, we challenge that definition for all of us. I know that many are set in certain beliefs but belief is supposed to be beautiful and without kindness or compassion, nothing is beautiful. Without Love everything is finite. Imagine for a second if you will the plight of trans men, women and NBI on a daily basis. Being born in a body that you don't recognize in relation to your soul, one that doesn't fit right or feel proper. Being told that because of biology you cannot be you, you have to hide, to shelter your true self from the world when the real you is beautiful. Imagine living in a world that fears you for being who you are and living your truth, that world becomes a little less beautiful each time. Its because we deny ourselves that beautiful soul, that wonderful expression of consciousness. Each of us who can love are beautiful, each heartbeat adding to the collective rhythm of humankind. When we censure a soul we disrupt that rhythm, we bring the entire human race down in definition. That expression, that voice, that person, is important not only to themselves but to each and every single one of us. Each new expression adding to the collective definition of us in relation to the individual and the collective. Like a masterpiece without color, life itself would be one dimensional without each and every single variation of evolution, thought and self. Life is about change, about transformation, we each transform ourselves a multitude of times throughout our lives from our hairstyles, outfits and even our bodies. We do so to feel better about our outside appearance based on our internal journey of self discovery. Full transformation is no different, they are changing their outward vessel to match their inward soul and that to me is beautiful. It takes immense courage to look at yourself and the world and to stand for who you are in relation to what others expect of you. Can you imagine someone else telling you who you are, deciding for you what you can be and what you can look like. This is up to each of us to discover, who you are is a personal journey of self discovery and as long as you are not hurting others then its no ones business but yours. I have heard arguments that some think they are harming themselves but that is just the person trying to understand by placing their own life's rule set against another's journey. It would be like someone telling you they know who you are better than you do. I cannot tell any of you who you are and you cannot tell me who I am, the only thing we can do is try to understand one another. Through understanding we grow and evolve not just ourselves but who we are in relation to the world at large. We take a step forwards on the path of evolution with each voice we listen to and each path we try to walk. Each person's journey can help us understand our own and when we walk those paths in unison, beauty awaits. I am not trying to tell you how to think or to feel but simply remind you that as you are on your own unique and special journey so are we all. Each path filled with missteps and adventures, lessons and teachings, failures and successes. Each journey is different so we cannot judge one another by our own paths because we are still walking them. At journeys end we can then look back on our lives, our footprints in the sand and we can then judge ourselves and the paths we took to get home. To everyone out there feeling alone, scared or unimportant no matter your distinction, you are beautiful and you are loved. Regardless of what the world says today or tomorrow, learn to love yourself. Learn to love all the beautiful things that make you, you. Those moments where you love yourselves despite of the hate or intolerance, reshape not only your heart but the heart of all of us because that courage is legendary. The courage to rise above hate and love despite everything shows the world and others who struggle that we are not alone. You are each beautiful reflections of perfection and together the courage your engender for simply living, will reach from history to destiny to chart a new path for us all.
