Hey Everyone,

I was reading a story about how Alberta's rise in cases has caused the hospital system to postpone surgeries and they are also talking about triage protocols in case they become overwhelmed. As such I was thinking of alternate options to help. Firstly, we should follow the mandates of other jurisdictions and look to send non critical cases to other cities. The government will create a list of hospitals and assign overflow hospitals in other areas. Then via ambulance or helicopter the hospital would transfer stable patients to alleviate the congestion. Alternatively, we should look into some options for temporary triage centres to help combat the caseload overflow that we are seeing. Alternatively we can look into delegating surgeries to other jurisdictions and hospitals. Perhaps even using doctors offices as temporary hospitals for quick outpatient surgeries. If any jurisdiction is able to send Nurses or Doctors to help western Canada you will be saving lives. These doctors can then help at the temporary triage centres to conduct viral care as well as conduct the surgeries at other centers. This will allow us to establish a better triage system than the one that prioritizes care based on survivability. As such if you can review these options in the hopes of saving more lives it would be greatly appreciated. Stay Safe, Stay Sanitized and Stay Supportive, John Ames Birch @johneames2
