From my understanding to stay in her home she sold it to her daughter for the cost of the loan so it could be repaid. ODSP then proceeded to cut her disability payments because they indicated she should have sold her home for more money. This situation is unfortunate because she did not receive any income from the sale and barely makes anything on ODSP. Currently the rate per month is $600. With this Pandemic the government has agreed that the cost of living in this country is $2000 a month. Given that she is barely making ends meat she should not have to contend with a reduction at this time. In fact given that the standard of living has been agreed at $2000 a month we need to have all our programs updated to that standard. Life is tough but its difficulties are compounded for those of us with disabilities. In my humble opinion I feel her case should be reviewed to determine the honorable course of action. Additionally I feel that a review of living standards needs to be conducted in every province to match the standard of living set by the government. Stay safe, stay sanitized and stay supportive, John Ames Birch
