The story talked about gaps in our after care network including rehabilitation centres. It talked about how there are not enough resources to care for patients once they leave the hospital and it got me thinking. What I propose is that we start bolstering our rehabilitation and after care networks now to combat current and future needs. I was thinking that we start in home rehabilitation for patients using webcams and online training. A friend or family member can be designated as a care provider and receive a online course to certify them for initial care. This way the family member can work physically with the patient while the webcam doctor advises to provide the best care possible. Additionally, we should start new training and certification initiatives to ensure we have enough staff to cover future rehabilitation initiatives. Together we can not only ensure that people survive the pandemic but thrive again in spite of it. Stay Safe, Stay Sanitized and Stay Supportive. John Ames Birch @johneames2
