Subject: Pandemic Emergency Ontario/ Quebec / Sao Paulo (Opinion)
Hey everyone,
I have been reading the news about spiking cases numbers in Ontario, Quebec and Brazil. The news indicated that Ontario's hospital capacity and workforce are at a breaking point.
I feel that a immediate 6 week quarantine would help our hospital capacity and help with our vaccine rollout. During the time they are in quarantine perhaps we can then vaccinate all essential workers who are still needed. Then we can organize home vaccinations for each field as we reopen to ensure as we are reopening those individuals have been vaccinated.
Additionally I think we need to create an online class for volunteers to gain familiarity with hospital needs and procedures so they can help the hospitals cope. You can create teams, a doctor, nurses and volunteers.
The volunteers would report to the nurses and the nurses would be given direction by the doctor. This will allow us to immediately bolster our hospitals with new people to help organize supplies and patients for the nurses.
Additionally we can look at perhaps having the red cross help our nurses. They should already have medical procedure training so this could also help our hospitals with much needed manpower.
I realize right now we are all struggling but we need to stand together now more than ever. We need to be there for one another on every theatre of battle this pandemic takes us. I humbly ask that if anyone can send aid to these hard hit areas we do so for the very sake of our humanity.
I believe in all of you and I know we will get through this time as a people united by our human unity, our humanity.
Stay safe, stay sanitized and stay supportive,
John Ames Birch
