Hey everyone, I was reading a story about a non profit organization that helps band members and councils find resolutions to corruption issues or other disagreements. This got me thinking about native issues in general and how many reserves lack proper infrastructure in some places. As such I was thinking that we should form a native coalition coast to coast to pool resources and funding to upgrade reserves and rural infrastructure. For reserves in close proximity to one another they can group together and fund a hospital in an equidistant location between all of the reserves to ensure proper medical care. Furthermore, we should look to upgrading their power infrastructure through wind and solar plants to ensure every reserve is energy independent. We can also partner with the provincial and Federal government to upgrade the water infrastructure of every reserve. Many reserves still today lack access to basic services like clean drinking water and this must change. Finally, we should look to start community gardens to help them be more food secure in those areas and increase revenues through agricultural development. For too long indigenous peoples have had to suffer without basic improvements to water, food, power and medical infrastructure. Together as a united native front we can change that. I therefore call on all reserves and all bands to start communicating, collaborating and coordinating coast to coast. Together we can make things better for everyone. All for one and one for all.
