I was thinking of ways that we can help to evolve the movie experience by reinstituting drive in theatres, instead of closing as some places are considering. I propose that for the short term you transform the parking lots of your buildings into drive in theatres and have your staff deliver food to the car in sealed and sanitized packages. In the interim you can start finding or buying land to convert in environmentally friendly ways into new drive ins to allow us more distance and pathogenic security while still enjoying the cinema. For the internal buildings you can covert into pandemic friendly zones perhaps with family rooms to view in. Perhaps these rooms would be smaller theatres that allow still a great experience but more personal to friends and family. These rooms can be cleaned after each use and allow people who do not drive a way to view as a family in more medically friendly conditions. Some theatres can be kept larger with spaced out seating for those who watch movies alone or were unable to book a room. Perhaps make it similar to broad way theatres with sections for personal occupancy like booths or something. Staff can bring in closed product before the movie starts to limit internal movement and you can deliver 3d glasses or other needs directly to the booth. The theatre would have sensors on everything to limit contact points and be cleaned every hour to ensure we limit transmission. The drive ins would also have delivery systems and cleaned regularly.
