Subject: Michigan Flooding - Urgent Support Needed (Opinion)
Hey Everyone,
I was writing you today regarding a news story I heard about flooding in Michigan, it talked about evacuations and extreme flooding throughout the state.
The flooding appears to be catastrophic and I was hopeful that we across this continent and globally can band together and help this great state overcome the flooding.
Perhaps if we can start donation drives for the families and start shipping them sandbags in an effort to help stop flooding in areas that have not been fully submerged. I know that right now everyone is busy dealing with the Pandemic but we need to help the people of Michigan any way that we can.
Additionally, we should start planning for flooding in the surrounding areas and prepare with temporary quarantine housing sites and supplies for displaced families. We should also start coordinating our disaster responses with our Medical responses. With storm season approaching we need to create a secondary, yet integrated response to deal with disasters as we are dealing with the pandemic.
If anyone can help I humbly ask that we continue to stand for one another no matter the danger, be it flu, flood or fire and ensure that all of us make it through this time, together.
To the residents of Michigan and surrounding areas I ask that you stay strong during this time, I know things may seem bleak but you will make it through this storm to see the light on a brighter horizon, Stand United.
Stay Safe, Stay Sanitized and Stay Supportive,
John Ames Birch
