Medical Student Mobilization

Subject: Medical Student Mobilization (Opinion)

Hello I hope this email finds you well, I was thinking about the Pandemic and how hard our first responders and medical professionals are working and it got me thinking. If this has not already been considered I think perhaps we should ask all Students to suit up and assist the doctors and nurses in the hospitals. They can even to help bolster field hospitals and temporary quarantine zones. They should have learned about infectious disease control in their first year and should be able to help assist the tireless workers on the front lines. Furthermore, I know that at times when people move from their home countries their medical degrees are not recognized so they take other jobs. There is a potential that there are medical professionals who have enough training to help assist doctors and nurses as well and perhaps they can be called in to help if they are willing and able. Additionally, I was thinking that you can setup eLearning for volunteers to become acquainted with infectious disease protocol so they can also help assist our medical professionals with anything that is needed. As long as they are aware of the infectious disease protocols and use PPE then the risk of viral transmission should be minimal and their help can hopefully give our front line workers more resources to fight this global pandemic. These were just a few thoughts I had to see if we can help our front line workers during this time. To the front line workers everywhere, you are our heroes and we love you.
