Hey Everyone, I was reading reports about hospital workers being treated with cruelty and fear whilst they are fighting to save everyone. I understand how fearful a time that this can be and I know that your good people who are only afraid of this virus not the person, but we cannot turn on one another. They are fighting day in and day out to protect you, risking their lives and now safety to do so. This is nothing short of courageous and they should be applauded not admonished for it. I understand that you feel due to their proximity that they are at a greater risk of catching the virus. However, as long as you follow the WHO guidelines for social distancing, hand washing and clean practices we will get through this. Now more than ever our first responders need us as we have always needed them, they are our heroes in this crisis and we need to stand for them. Instead of fearing them, help them, say thank you, hold the door open for them and most importantly be supportive of them and everyone who is working to help see us through this. The police who continuously place themselves in harms way in an effort to keep us safe and sanitized, the grocery workers trying to keep their customers safe, the manufactures and workers producing the food and supplies we need. The tireless doctors, nurses and medical professionals who report to work everyday for long shifts to save our friends and families. We are one people, there is no you or me, but we. We must stand together firm on a foundation of respect to build a future for everyone to be happy and healthy. A future where we can ease these restrictions once our leaders and medical professionals have saved us. A future where all of us can be happy and healthy in a world not only free from this pandemic but prepared for any future ones. A world where our first responders are looked to with Hope and pride and not fear. This is a great future but one that will only come to pass if we stick together. Fear can mean two things, Forget Everything And Run OR Face Everything And Rise. I choose to Rise. Stay Safe, Stay Sanitized and Stay Supportive, John Ames Birch @johneames2
