Hey everyone, I was reading a story that talked about how Texas is removing Martin Luther King jr, women rights and the Aboriginal massacres from their learning curriculums. This is an attempt to erase history so it can be rewritten by tyrants. They are trying to undo years worth of human rights work by erasing their struggles from history. They want people to grow up with no knowledge of human rights so they undervalue those rights. This is an attempt to turn back the clock on human rights and human dignity and it cannot be allowed. I've said it before but it behooves me to repeat it. We have come too far down the road of human rights, we cannot go back, we will not. We will not go back into submission and silence, the closet or the back of the damn bus. We cannot forget the journey that brought us to this moment. The sacrifices of millions of people who stood to make a better world. We cannot forget the untold legion of people who died due to hate and inequality and we cannot forget how far we have evolved as a people. Erasing that struggle, that history, would be a disservice to future generations of our people. We need to remember the dark nights of our history or else we are doomed to repeat those same mistakes. Years ago Hitler too sought to amend the educational system to favor his version of history. We cannot allow the same tactics used by the Nazis to be implemented by a supposedly democratic nation or its leaders. Anyone who tries to hide our history is guilty of atrocity. Tyranny starts small, one concession after another. Day after day, right after right taken away until you wake up enchained. We cannot bow to fear or tyranny we must rise. I call on everyone far and wide to stand and to march against this erasure of history and stand for our struggle so it will never be forgotten. We march for a better world, a more perfect union and we must ensure each generation knows why we march. Protect our history, stand united or fall divided. Stay safe, stay sanitized and stay supportive, John Ames Birch @johneames2
