Subject: Federal Stock Rotation Idea (opinion)

I was thinking perhaps of a way to ensure that the federal reserve stockpiles can continuously replenish their supply of PPE without any worry of expiry. Similar to restaurants I was thinking about a first in first out approach. Hospitals can order supplies from the federal reserve and then the reserve can bolster its supply with new orders to ensure that if there are any products that expire you will ensure a rotating stock system to keep federal reserves fresh. In addition this might allow the governments to track shipments per hospital on a national basis to determine spike in community need and adjust supply or even community infrastructure appropriately (new hospital planning etc). I know respirators do have a best use by date for effectiveness so this might help ensure all federal reserves are of the utmost quality in case of future need. Something similar may already be in place but this was a thought I was having and wanted to share to determine if something similar can be used to protect the federal reserves from expiry.
