Hey Everyone, I was reading a story that talked about how Japan's princess was getting married and many were concerned that she was marrying an everyday person. The story indicated that she lost her royal status and that only female royalty is subject to this law. First of all, I love Japan and its people, however this rule seems very sexist. If male royalty are exempt from losing status for marrying an everyday person then this same protection must expand to include women. Marriage is about love, it always has been. We don't celebrate words or a piece of paper, we rejoice at the love that exists between two people. Love is everything, it's the connection that binds families, friends and futures together. Love is the conduit from heaven to earth and all who love, reinforce divinity. It matters not the status of one person or another, what matters is that they love and are loved, not just by who they have chosen to marry but their people as well. It doesn't matter that she married an everyday person, what matters is that she married for love. That is courage. In my opinion, there is no true distinction between commoner and royalty as these are just words to describe station and title but they dont always translate into happiness. To me, royalty is about who you are as a person and not to which family you were born into. The quality of a leader is defined by their heart in my opinion and we must protect their hearts as well. It means that the qualities of leadership found in royalty can be found within others if we have the courage to cultivate that diamond in the rough. To see beyond station and title and glimpse the truth of another is what we need in this world today. In my humble opinion, no matter our station or title, we are all priceless. This standard of worth is innate to each of us as within all of us lies a spark of the divine. These embers of creation slumber within us and each time we live our truth we add fuel to our inner fires. We shape our world and worth through our actions and inactions, and regardless of station or title, we are all amazing. Within each of us lies a gift, it is our responsibility to learn that gift and teach it to others. This worth goes beyond words and can only be defined by examining your own internal ideals and evolving them. To take a deep look at who you are and want to be, to surpass any boundaries you have set or others have set for you. This is the journey of discovery that propels your worth from internal thought to outward action. Each time you go beyond expectations, you evolve the potential within yourself and others. I think that each of us, paupers or princesses, can learn from one another to help create a better world for our people. When people are loved and love others, this journey of discovery becomes an outward dance as they live in love. Each action they take is therefore heightened by this emotion and the experience of being loved takes you and your actions to new heights. This is why love in all things is important because it allows us to understand ourselves and others in a more profound way. I humbly feel that any leader is made better by love and therefore should have the liberty to secure the future that they want and need regardless of station. We have built our world and society around this concept of liberty and democracy and therefore our choices are sacrosanct. Each choice is a piece to the puzzle that is us and each one of us has the right to choose our destinies. I humbly ask that in this instance we allow the princess her title and her heart to show the world that love is everything. In future we need to take a look at the expectations placed on royalty to ensure that like all of us, they too have the right to choose. "Live in love and God will stand with you". Stay Safe, Stay Sanitized and Stay Supportive, John Ames Birch @johneames2
