Subject: Trans Rights and Representation (Opinion)
Hey everyone,
I have been reading the news and how some states are proposing anti trans legislation. Trans rights are human rights and each time we reduce their rights we attack our own.
Identity is not some word or gender it delves deeper into the soul, far past biology. Who we are is a journey of self discovery not a collective one. We have no right to define another person only try to understand who they are.
Fear is what causes people's ignorance and hate so we must combat this on a global stage. We must showcase them and their stories so that we can help others understand their story and their journey.
I feel that news outlets and talk show hosts should launch a series of programs to showcase the struggles of trans and nbi individuals. They should sit down with individuals and experts in an effort to edify the populace on trans issues.
With knowledge comes understanding and if we hope to have trans and nbi individuals visable we need to see them for the wonderful souls that they are.
It's up to each of us to build a better world for all of us no matter our distinction so that each of us can live the promise of life, liberty and security of the person. Trans rights are human rights, all for one and one for all.
Stay safe, stay sanitized and stay supportive,
John Ames Birch
