WESTERN SAHARA

Officially the Islamic Republic of Mauritania is a sovereign state in Northwest Africa. Mauritania is the eleventh largest nation in Africa, and 90 percent of its territory is situated in the Sahara. Most of its population of 4.4 million lives in the temperate south of the country, with roughly one third concentrated in the capital and largest city, Nouakchott, located on the Atlantic coast.


SENEGAL
Officially the Republic of Senegal, is a country in West Africa. Officially, The Republic of Sierra-Leone, Colloquially Salone is a nation in Africa. The capital and largest city is Freetown. The country is divided into five administrative regions, which are subdivided into 16 districts.


LIBERIA
Officially, The Republic of Liberia is a country on the West African Coast. English is the official language, but over 20 indigenous languages are spoken, reflecting the country's ethnic and cultural diversity. The country's capital and largest city is Monrovia.

COTE-D'IVOIRE
Officially, The Republic of Cote-D'Ivoire also known as the Ivory Coast is a country on the southern coast of Africa. Its capital is Yamoussoukro, in the center of the country, while its largest city and economic center is the port city of Abidjan.
GHANA
Officially, The Republic of Ghana is a country in Africa. With over 31 million people, Ghana is the second-most populous country in West Africa, after Nigeria.[11] The capital and largest city is Accra; other major cities are Kumasi, Tamale, and Sekondi-Takoradi.

TOGO
Officially, The Togolese Republic is a country in West Africa. It covers 57,000 square kilometers (22,008 square miles) with a population of approximately 8 million,[9] and has a width of less than 115 km (71 mi) between Ghana and its eastern neighbor Benin.


BENIN
Officially, The Republic of Benin is a nation in Africa. The capital is Porto-Novo, and the seat of government is in Cotonou, the most populous city and economic capital. It is a tropical nation, dependent on agriculture, and is an exporter of palm oil and cotton.

BURKINA FASO
Burkina Faso, is a landlocked country in West Africa. Previously called Republic of Upper Volta (1958–1984), it was renamed Burkina Faso by President Thomas Sankara. Its citizens are known as Burkinabè, and its capital and largest city is Ouagadougou.

ALGERIA
Officially, the Peoples Democratic of Algeria, is a country in North Africa. With a population of 44 million, Algeria is the ninth-most populous country in Africa, and the 32nd-most populous country in the world. The capital and largest city is Algiers, located in the far north on the Mediterranean coast.


TUNESIA
Officially, The Republic of Tunesia is a country in North Africa. Tunisia is home to Africa's northernmost point, Cape Angela; and its capital and largest city is Tunis, which is located on its northeastern coast, and lends the country its name.

LIBYA
Officially the State of Libya is a country in Africa. It is the fourth-largest country in Africa and the Arab world, and the 16th-largest in the world.[10] Libya has the 10th-largest proven oil reserves in the world.[11] The largest city and capital, Tripoli, is located in western Libya and contains over three million of Libya's seven million people.
NIGER
Officially, The Republic of the Niger is a country in Africa. Over 80% of its land area lies in the Sahara. Its predominantly Muslim population of about 25 million[16][17] live mostly in clusters in the further south and west of the country. The capital Niamey is located in Niger's southwest corner.

NIGERIA
Officially, The Federal Republic of Nigeria is a country in Africa. Nigeria is a federal republic comprising 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, where the capital, Abuja, is located. The largest city in Nigeria is Lagos, one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world and the second-largest in Africa.


CAMEROON
Officially, The Republic of Cameroon is nation in Africa. Due to its strategic position at the crossroads between West Africa and Central Africa, it has been categorized as being in both camps. Its nearly 27 million people speak 250 native languages.

CHAD
Also known as the Republic of Chad, is a nation in Africa. Chad has a population of 16 million, of which 1.6 million live in the capital and largest city N'Djamena. SUDAN
The Republic of the Sudan is a nation in North East Africa. Africa's third-largest country by area, and the third-largest by area in the Arab League. It was the largest country by area in Africa and the Arab League until the secession of South Sudan in 2011, since which both titles have been held by Algeria. Its capital is Khartoum and its most populated city is Omdurman.


CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC
The Central African Republic is a landlocked nation in Central Africa. It is bordered by Chad to the north, Sudan to the northeast, South Sudan to the southeast, the DR Congo to the south, the Republic of the Congo to the southwest, and Cameroon to the west.

CONGO
Officially, The Republic of the Congo is a nation on the western coast of Central Africa to the west of the Congo river. Officially the Gabonese Republic is a nation in Africa. Located on the equator, it is bordered by Equatorial Guinea to the northwest, Cameroon to the north, the Republic of the Congo on the east and south, and the Gulf of Guinea to the west.

Officially, The Republic of Malawi is a landlocked nation in Africa. Malawi's capital (and largest city) is Lilongwe. Malawi spans over 118,484 km2 (45,747 sq mi) and has an estimated population of 19,431,566.

TANZANIA
Officially the United Republic of Tanzania is a nation in Africa. According to the United Nations, Tanzania has a population of 63.59 million, making it the most populous country located entirely south of the Equator.
BURUNDI
Officially, The Republic of Burundi is is a landlocked country in the Great Rift Valley where the African Great Lakes region and East Africa converge. The capital cities are Gitega and Bujumbura, the latter of which is the country's largest city.



UGANDA
Officially, The Republic of Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa. It has a population of around 46 million, of which 8.5 million live in the capital and largest city of Kampala. Uganda is named after the Buganda kingdom, which encompasses a large portion of the south of the country, including the capital Kampala and whose language Luganda is widely spoken throughout the country.

SOMALIA
Officially, The Federal Republic of Somalia is a nation in the Horn of Africa. Somalia has the longest coastline on Africa's mainland.[11] Its terrain consists mainly of plateaus, plains, and highlands. Somalia has an estimated population of around 17.1 million,[13][14] of which over 2 million live in the capital and largest city Mogadishu, and has been described as Africa's most culturally homogeneous country.

ETHIOPIA
Officially The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia is a landlocked nation in The Horn of Africa. The national capital and largest city, Addis Ababa, lies several kilometers west of the East African Rift that splits the country into the African and Somali tectonic plates.


SUDAN
Officially, The Republic of the Sudan is a country in North East Africa. DJIBOUTI
Officially The Republic of Djibouti is a nation in The Horn of Africa. It is bordered by Somalia to the south, Ethiopia to the southwest, Eritrea in the north, and the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden to the east. The country has an area of 23,200 km2 (8,958 sq mi).


SAO TOME & PRINCIPE
Officially The Democratic Republic of Sao Tome & Principe is a Island country off the gulf of Guniea. It consists of two archipelagos around the two main islands of São Tomé and Príncipe, about 150 km (93.21 mi) apart and about 250 and 225 km (155 and 140 mi) off the north-western coast of Gabon.
