They are essentially fear mongering in an effort to promote this vaccine passport system that is flawed and creating a system of segregation for our people. Given that the delta variant can be caught by vaccinated and unvaccinated people alike, segregating them serves no purpose. This system infringes on civil liberties under the guise of public good. The only caveat to infringe on rights is if it's in the interests of the public good. However, given that this system does not protect us from the Delta Variant, it does not serve the public good. Therefore this is in violation of the US Bill of Rights and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This system harkens back to the holocaust and the civil right movement as the same atrocities keep occuring. People are paying more for goods and services, being prohibited from shops and restaurants and losing their jobs due to a system that creates inequality. The only thing that will save us from this pandemic is using masks regardless of vaccination status and getting the vaccine. As such I am calling on the journalist oversight committees to rectify this misinformation to ensure that we are safer. This vaccine passport system is flawed and does not protect us; it only serves to dismantle our morality. If vaccinated people continue to think they cannot get sick or transmit the virus to others then they will continue to not wear masks and our virus numbers will climb. I have seen report after report showing unvaccinated people who are not wearing masks and they are propelling this wave of case numbers we are seeing. We know this because in each place where they removed the mask mandate they saw a jump in cases. Vaccinated individuals must still wear masks and therefore this system of segregation must end or we devalue our democracy each time we allow inequality and segregation in our society.
