Hey everyone, I have been seeing a trend as of late that is deeply disturbing and harkens back to some dark days for humanity. I have noticed that people are discriminating and segregating people based on their vaccination status. I understand the need for vaccinations but we cannot make the same mistakes of our past. People are being denied entry into establishments, denied employment and are having to pay extra for some goods and services. This is wrong and shame on anyone trying to force someone into a vaccine. From a legal standpoint this not only violates the Canadian Charter of Rights and freedoms but also infringes on the US constitution. We cannot allow a discriminatory and illegal system based on vaccination status. At most all that unvaccinated people can be asked is to wear a mask and socially distance themselves. Discrimination and segregation is wrong, it was wrong when they tried to use a person's skin color as a reason. It was wrong when they tried to discriminate on a person's gender identity and its wrong to foster inequality due to vaccination status. We are a democracy, a nation of choice and unless we hold liberty for all people the words which we built our society upon ring hollow. We cannot discriminate based on vaccination status for we create an atrocity when we do. Vaccinations are important but so too is our humanity, our human unity. Stand together against discrimination and inequalities to create a world of liberty and justice for all. Stay safe, stay sanitized and stay supportive, John Ames Birch @johneames2
