Hey Everyone, I am writing again about the vaccine passport system and its ineffectual operation. I understand the importance of vaccines and feel vaccines and masks will save us from this pandemic. However, to begin, we know that the delta variant can be caught and passed by vaccinated people. This means that the wave of viral cases we are now seeing are coming from people not wearing their masks. The vaccine passport system does not offer protections to our society; it only challenges our morality. I say this because if vaccinated people can still pass along the delta variant to both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals then segregating them does no good. We are seeing people lose their jobs, there is talk of people paying more for goods and services and they are being barred from certain establishments. This all harkens back to the Nazi genocide of the Jewish people and the crimes comitted against of people of color in the west. I understand the need to protect the population but we cannot use these same tactics, we must remain humane. Given that this system doesn't protect us, this equates to state level discrimination and a violation of the bill of rights. The only condition that allows the public good to overshadow individual rights is if it's in the protection of the collective good. Given that this system of segregation does not protect us then they have failed to meet this mandate. Therefore, by proxy, each government or corporation that discriminates based on vaccination status is creating state level discriminatory practices. The only thing that will save us from this pandemic are vaccines and mask use and we need this to be discussed in the media by our leadership. In the coming months we will be seeing many cases come before the courts and we need our leaders to confirm the correct information about how to stop this virus. Instead they are creating an unequal landscape for citizens and are therefore participating in the largest act of state discrimination we have seen in our lifetime. As such we need to remove the vaccine passport system immediately or else we will bring the entire medical profession and governments into disrepute. "There was segregation everywhere.
