The story talked about violence that erupted as police tried to restore order. I can understand you wanting to stand for your side and protest injustice but we cannot allow violence in those protests. No matter how right you may feel there is no justification to use violence. On both sides of this conflict are people that have faced a history of hate and oppression as they sought a home, a nation to call their own. Both sides are more alike then either care to admit. Both sides seeking a well deserved homeland, a place to build and to evolve from. Both sides know what it's like to be without a nation or a home, both so desperately trying to build one on the same lands. Why would either side who knows the pain of not having a homeland try to take that from another. Regardless if they are enemies or not you both want the same thing. Despite the past pain and the current conflict I believe in a better future. A future where you share the land equally, a future where both Isreal and Palestine have a home. This future is possible if we learn to see beyond the hate or fear we might feel and take a chance to build that better future. I believe that there are good people on both sides of this conflict. People trying to live good lives, create better futures for their children and to live in peace. This is what we all want and we can bequeath this beautiful future to eachother. I ask that no matter your side you look beyond fear or hate and see the people who stand opposed. They are fathers, sons, mothers, daughters, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. I ask that you see them as the people they are and understand that you both want the same thing, a place to call home. Please I beg of each of you to put down your arms and pick up your hearts.
