Judicial Reform Options

Hey everyone, I was thinking about judicial institutions and the need to help those individuals find their way and I have a few ideas. I was thinking that all judicial institutions start community gardens, this will allow the institution to reduce food costs, provide fresh ingredients for meals and allows them to care for life. Caring for life or growth can have a positive impact on the reform of an individual which is why some places have dog care options. When someone who may have hurt others is then made to care for a life it can help reinforce the importance of life in general. Even something as simple as a garden can help them reconnect to themselves and life by nurturing something. I would have them work with their hands and simple farming methods and any bags that need to be cut can be done by the guards. Additionally, we should start implementing new support initiatives once they are due to be released. Prior to their release they should with the help of the institution start job hunting in anticipation of their release and look for a proper place to live. This way once they are released they have a job, a place and a plan to re-start their lives. I feel these measures will help reduce recidivism as it will allow more support and interpersonal development to reform the inmate not just keep them contained.
