Hey everyone, I was reading a story that talked about the living and working conditions for foreign workers. The story talked about cramped conditions, dirty homes and lack of support in some areas. I have spoken about this prior in my writing but we must ensure the best conditions for our foreign workers. This is reflection of our nation and we must ensure the best conditions for every worker within this nation. As such I think we need to have a federal policy on foreign workers and their living and working conditions. They need proper food, lodging, healthcare and support while in this nation. We need a civilian oversight committee that will review living and working conditions and discuss said conditions in the workers native language. We need inspections done to ensure the same standard is universal throughout our nation to ensure safety, dignity and humanity. The workers should be vaccinated if they wish, given a phone loaded with apps to help them navigate our shores and learn French and English while here. We need them to know their rights and responsibilities and what support programs they are eligible for. We need to ensure that when visitors come to our shores they are treated with the same respect and dignity everyone deserves. As such if we can come together as a nation to institute federal and civilian oversight to honor our humanity and Canadian identity it would be greatly appreciated. Stay safe, stay sanitized and stay supportive, John Ames Birch @johneames2
