Hey everyone, I have been noticing a concerning trend as of late and wanted to address it. At times I have noticed that when people disagree that stance is then mutated by the opposing side as an attack on said person due to distinction. People can disagree with your position but still support you and your people. If I disagree with someone it doesnt mean I'm against them, just what they do. Recently I read a story that talked about how Gal Gadot was getting in trouble for not taking a tougher stance for her people. The story mentioned some were stating she was working against her own people. To me this is unacceptable as she is a wonderful person I'm told. Many times I have seen situations where people disagree and are labelled as anti this or that in an effort to cancel said person. Those words being used as weapons to destroy someone for simply disagreeing with someone else. This idea of cancelling someone for their views is getting out of hand. Many people are now being cancelled for infractions that do not warrant cancellation. The entire idea of cancellation is divisive within itself and fails to solve the initial problem. At times when warranted we remove people from the front view of society to defend that society from hate or intolerance. However at times when used improperly that system becomes hateful and intolerant so we must take care. Instead of cancelling people we should work to build bridges through education, introspection and litigation. When people fall through the cracks within our society we cannot leave them there. Instead we must repair the cracks in our tenements and reform our society accordingly. As such I ask that we take a dispassionate look even amid disagreements to ensure our unity remains intact.
